FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Thompson’s Station, TN – Graystone Quarry Events is breaking ground this week on a distinctive wedding, meeting and concert event space in Thompson’s Station bordering Franklin, TN. This 76-acre site has it all – convenience to Nashville and surrounding cities, yet complete wooded, gated privacy. The event facilities are being located at an old reclaimed rock quarry that supplied limestone 50 years ago.

“For three generations this property has been a local jewel known to neighborhood Thompson’s Station and Franklin residents that have grown up with it and enjoyed it, and now it will provide an absolutely spectacular setting as a backdrop to any amazing event,” says Rick McEachern, owner Graystone Quarry Events.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Graystone Quarry and its unique special events and amphitheater vision to Thompson’s Station,” says Cory Napier, Mayor of Thompson’s Station. “By repurposing a long defunct rock quarry and surrounding acres into a convenient, multi-faceted entertainment and gathering destination, we expect to welcome folks to our Town for many nights of relaxation and entertainment.”

In the first construction phase, the project will include over 15,000 square feet of event space in two, multi-purpose, air-conditioned, and all-season buildings. The property will have a Tennessee barn meets mountain lodge inspired architecture reflecting the warm woods and stones present in the surrounding environment with state of the art event lighting, video and sound. All architecture is designed to utilize the property’s own native rock and wood to provide a natural transition from indoor to outdoor spaces including slide-away glass. The larger main building opens to a stone courtyard fronting a 1.5 acre quarry lake surrounded by 20 foot cliffs, waterfall and outdoor fireplace. The smaller building opens to a grass-covered courtyard overlooking the woods and distant hillsides.

In the next phase, the project will include a world-class boutique amphitheater with room for up to 5,000 concert attendees and a spacious 1½ acre plaza area for gathering, dining, and merchandise. The amphitheater will be positioned in the bottom of the quarry surrounded by 70-100 foot limestone cliffs and will provide perfect visual and acoustic space for outdoor music events.

According to McEachern, “The amphitheater will provide the greater south-of-Nashville area with a comfortable and authentically Tennessee outdoor experience to enjoy local and national groups with a unique rock quarry backdrop.”

Phase 1 construction of the event centers will start this month and continue for approximately 1 year. Most of the construction of the amphitheater in phase 2 will begin after phase 1 is completed.
